Redout – Neptune Pack Free Download [2023]

 Redout – Neptune Pack Introduction:

Redout is a futuristic racing video game that was both developed and published by the Italian studio 34BigThings, with co-publishing support from Nicalis and 505 Games. Drawing inspiration from popular racing titles like F-Zero, Wipeout, Rollcage, and POD (as mentioned on the game's Steam page), Redout hit the gaming scene with its Microsoft Windows release in September 2016. The game subsequently became available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in August 2017, with the unique feature of virtual reality support for the Windows version.

The Nintendo Switch version was originally scheduled for release in Q2 2017 but encountered a delay, finally arriving in May 2019. Later on, Redout expanded its platform reach by debuting on Amazon Luna on October 20, 2020.

Gameplay:

Set in the year 2560, Redout offers players a thrilling anti-gravity racing experience on a variety of tracks. Gamers can choose from seven racing teams, each boasting four distinct ships, each with its own set of attributes like acceleration, top speed, grip, structural integrity, energy pool, and energy recharge speed. Players have the option to customize their ships by installing upgrades and selecting from six available passive and active power-ups. The game features a total of five racing complexes, with an additional seven added via DLC. These tracks include exciting elements such as loops, jumps, teleports, underwater sections, tubular segments, and even tracks with altered gravity conditions.

Redout's gameplay options include different racing modes like standard racing, arena racing where the last surviving ship emerges victorious, speed mode which requires maintaining a minimum velocity, score mode where players compete for the highest scores based on lap times, boss mode involving travel between multiple tracks using teleporters, and instagib mode which instantly disqualifies ships upon contact with walls. Multiplayer support allows for online play with up to twelve participants through lobbies, as well as local split-screen multiplayer for two players.

The control scheme for Redout's ships mimics that of aircraft, including strafing and pitching the vehicle. Pitching is especially crucial when navigating uphill to prevent the ship from grinding against the ground (resulting in slowdown and damage) or when turning downhill to avoid experiencing redouts, which are visual effects.

Final Words:

In terms of critical reception, Redout garnered positive reviews for its Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions. The Nintendo Switch edition, however, received mixed reviews. PC Gamer praised its visual and auditory elements while expressing reservations about the overall sensation of the game. Nintendo Life deemed it a "pretty good game" but raised concerns about performance and multiplayer functionality on the Switch. Push Square hailed Redout as one of the genre's finest examples and particularly lauded its boss races.
